Dead Turkey Joke of the Day

Hey! This is really a dead turkey joke!

It's the day before Thanksgiving, and the butcher is just locking up when a man begins pounding on the front door.

"Please let me in," says the man desperately. "I forgot to buy a turkey, and my wife will kill me if I don't come home with one."

"Okay," says the butcher. "Let me see what I have left." He goes into the freezer and discovers that there's only one scrawny turkey left. He brings it out to show the man.

"That's one is too skinny. What else you got?" says the man.

The butcher takes the bird back into the freezer and waits a few minutes and brings the same turkey back out to the man.

"Oh, no," says the man, "That one doesn't look any better. You better give me both of them!"

  • Senate bill rewrite lets feds read your e-mail without warrants?

The feds will be able to read your email without a warrant?

    From CNET:

A Senate proposal touted as protecting Americans' e-mail privacy has been quietly rewritten, giving government agencies more surveillance power than they possess under current law.

CNET has learned that Patrick Leahy, the influential Democratic chairman of the Senate Judiciary committee, has dramatically reshaped his legislation in response to law enforcement concerns. A vote on his bill, which now authorizes warrantless access to Americans' e-mail, is scheduled for next week.

Leahy's rewritten bill would allow more than 22 agencies -- including the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Federal Communications Commission -- to access Americans' e-mail, Google Docs files, Facebook wall posts, and Twitter direct messages without a search warrant. It also would give the FBI and Homeland Security more authority, in some circumstances, to gain full access to Internet accounts without notifying either the owner or a judge. (CNET obtained the revised draft from a source involved in the negotiations with Leahy.) - from CNET

Was I saying something about secession the other day?

Isn't there something in the 4th Amendment to the Constitution about this?

Hmmm... I guess they did not have email back then...

Hmmm... Maybe United States v. Warshak is relevant?

  • Dear Secession Supporter of 2012

    Dear Secession Supporter of 2012

The majority of people in your state do NOT support secession and your state will not be seceding from the union.

Since you are so displeased with the way the Constitutional government of these United States of America functions, I suggest it is time for you to surrender all the rights and privileges that have been granted to you by virtue of your citizenship in the United States.

Please renounce your U.S. citizenship now. You no longer deserve it.

Please turn in your voter registration certificate - you no longer have the right to vote.

Please surrender all your property and belongings that are protected by the military of the United States and other government agencies.

Please do not reply - you no longer have the right of free speech here.

Please turn in your guns to the local police department - you no longer have the right to bear arms.

The United States flag is no longer your flag - please do not salute it.

You no longer need to say the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag - you have no allegiance to that flag.

You are NOT an American - you are a trespasser here and it would be in your best interest to leave the United States of America as soon as possible.

The home of the free and the brave has no need for your presence any longer.

On the other hand, if you elect to stay and remain a U.S. citizen - please participate!

Please keep your voter registration certificate and vote in the next election.

Please support the lawfully elected government of this nation and participate in the political process.

Please speak out and disagree with your fellow citizens - state your opinion - it is your right as a U.S. citizen.

Please, work with your fellow citizens to change things for the better and work to elect those that would better represent what YOU think the United States should be.

Be an American! The home of the free and the brave is yours to enjoy and improve.

  • More

In the old Humphrey Bogart movie Key Largo, the hero played by Bogart and the villain, Johnny Rocco, played by Edward G. Robinson agree on just exactly what Rocco wants:

    MORE!

Youtube clip from the movie below.

Wanting more is not limited to just villains in movies. Most of us want more of something!

Some of us want more money.

Some of us want more beauty.

Some of us want more power.

Some of us want more chocolate!

Some of us want more fantasy in our lives.

    But is there ever enough?

    Johnny Rocco never gets enough.
