WARNING! Posters can change your comments to say whatever they want!
Dear Xanga:
Why are posters allowed to change the content of what their commenters say? I think a poster should be able to delete comments - but not CHANGE them and have them still attributed to the original commenter.

Comments (17)
oh,my I didn't even think of that.
Yup! That is very odd that they let you change the content of comments!
Just hope people don't change your comments to say something absurd, like "Pickles are just drunk cucumbers".
HEY! I just thought of something. Now everybody will agree with me!
If you want them to!
Holy cow - you're right! Pickles ARE just drunk cucumbers! Al_son said so on my post!
Yup!
This is most disturbing! Those cucumbers are more than likely underage!
YEAH!
I did not know either of those items...now I's gonna forget it soon as my head hurts...
Hope your head feels better soon!
Weird. I find this weird.
HUGS!!!
(Now what will you change my comment to say?!)
I have only just noticed this.
You can take it one step farther and not only edit the content, but the commenter and refer-back, too.
Thanks for the recent comment you left on my latest post (working on updating the avatar)!
1) Create about 10-20 of your own comments on your own post.
2) Edit each comment's Name, Email, and URL to whomever you want to spoof/embarrass/offend/blackmail/piss off.
3) Update.
4)Change your avatar to something Xanga-generic to make it look like 2.0's avatar implementation on your site is semi-broken (if you keep your own unique avatar, it will show on the spoofed comment and be a tip-off that something's just plain wrong.)
4) Sit back and enjoy your diverse and worshipful following.
I like cucumbers both drunk and sober.
I do not like the ability of comments to be changed however, and though I whole-heartedly agree that deletion should be an option for when things get inappropriate, the ability to change the content thereof seems to be asking for trouble.
I guess I could live with edited comments - but - it seems like it should at LEAST indicate the comments have been edited and by whom!
