Electricity Supplier Blames Itchy Cows for Power Cuts
A small Welsh village keeps plunging into darkness – and itchy cows are getting the blame.Llanddona, on the island of Anglesey, North Wales, has suffered power shortages for years – and engineers say the problem is caused by cows rubbing themselves on electricity poles.
‘For years now the electricity has been going off for a few seconds then coming back on,’ said Carwyn Jones, county councillor for Seiriol ward, which includes Llanddona.
‘I contacted ScottishPower and they got back to me saying they thought it was cows scratching against equipment, leading to a temporary cut as the equipment is moved.
‘They said they were going to install fencing around the poles to try and sort it out, but as far as I know that has not happened yet.’
However, a spokesperson for the supplier said: ‘ScottishPower apologises for the inconvenience these short interruptions have caused.
‘The latest interruption was due to a broken stay which supports our poles.
‘The repair has now been carried out and a fence has been placed around the stays to alleviate this problem and prevent this from happening again.’
Mr Jones said it was ‘a bit much’ for ScottishPower to blame the cows for the problems.
‘A company like this, which makes so much money, should invest in new equipment,’ he added

Dog Breastfeeds Cat to the Surprise of Owner – and Everyone Else
Hot on the heels of a cat nursing some ducklings comes another unlikely partnership – a dog breastfeeding a cat.Video has emerged from Tennessee, USA, showing an adopted cat named Ally sucking on the teats of a three-year-old dog called Ba Boo.
What makes the story even stranger, if that was possible, is the fact that Ba Boo’s owner Sherry Brandt thought the bitch couldn’t produce milk because she had never mothered any puppies, according to WRCB.
But when she started nursing a kitten that had been abandoned at a nearby parking area, it seems they were mistaken.
When Ally arrived home, the two animals immediately hit it off – with the pair often wrestling around.‘She seemed to have faith that this was her mum and that she’d get milk,’ Brandt said.
‘Ba Boo seems to believe that she’s the cat’s mum.
‘It’s just a miracle that she got milk and she is nursing this kitten.’

Here it's chewing squirrels that hurt our electricity, not cows. When we lived in Africa, friends had a dog who nursed lion cubs. The cubs eventually landed in a zoo, but the dog got to stay home and rest.
I am glad to read the "SDT" , on this Sunday afternoon.I loved reading about the Welsh cows!! Powerful!About the dog , I have a daughter who owns a dog that brestfeed the little cats too . Weird ! or lesson of tolerance !!?Mrs Spazz is gracious and has big muscles . Take care Donkey! In friendshipMichel
Poor cows taking the blame... I agree with the town folk, it is a shame to blame the bovine.
Happy Sunday Donkey!!!
Old Testament, real wrath of God type stuff : : : Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies. Rivers and seas boiling. Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes... The dead rising from the grave, DOGS AND CATS LIVING TOGETHER!
Sure blame the cows. We all know it was donkey playing with the way back machine.
We had a German shepherd that nursed an orphaned kitten with her pups. The kitten's hair on its head was always spiky because the dog carried it around by the head.
