    Sweet Corn on Wikipedia

Oh! Yum! Corn on the cob! I like boiled best, but its good almost anyway you cook it! Slathered in butter and salted - MmMmMmMm - Yum! There were so many good pictures of corn on the cob to choose from, I just put a bunch of them together in an animation so you could drool over them!

How to cook corn on the cob: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/recipe_views/views/40047

There is nothing like fresh corn on the cob, quickly boiled, spread with lots of sweet butter, and sprinkled with salt. Two ears per person may seem like a proper serving, but appetites run high when corn is in season and freshly picked.

Just before cooking, husk the corn, pull off the silky threads, and cut out any blemishes with a pointed knife. Drop the corn into a large pot filled with boiling salted water. Cover the pot and let the water return to a boil again, then turn off the heat and keep the pot covered. After about 5 minutes, remove enough ears for a first serving. You can keep the remaining corn warm in the water for another 10 minutes without its becoming tough. Serve with lots of butter and salt.

We have some of these corn holder thingies - but I only use them if the stuff is to hot to handle when I eat it. Otherwise, they just get in the way! Then there is the methodology for eating the corn off the cob. You can go round in circles - constantly turing the corn, or you can eat it as if you were typing text on a typewriter, one or several rows at a time, then turn to eat the next row or rows! I usually do the typewriter method - about three rows at a time.

  • Hey, wait a minute, I didn't give the unsweetented chocolate to all of the kids, just ones that deserved it.  To get to the corn thing.  I love it grilled or roasted or boiled or microwaved or cooked off the cob cooked with onions and butter. The last is a good way to use leftover corn.  Love corn bread, corn chips too.  When I eat it off the cob, it has to be one row at a time left to right.
